- June 2004 - March 2006. Post-doc grant provided by the National Research Council (CNR) to finance research on security and reliability of wireless communications.
- November 2005. Grant provided by the CNR to finance mobility of scientists (Programme Short-Term Mobility - Year 2005).
- December 2004. Post-doc grant provided by the ERCIM (European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics) to perform research on security and reliability of wireless communications. He postponed the grant to the end of the grant provided by the CNR; due to the incoming position of Assistant Professor at the Università di Roma Tre, he declined the grant.
- November 2000 - October 2003. Ph.D. grant from the Università di Roma "La Sapienza".
- March 1994 - March 1995. Grant of the National Research Council (CNR) finalized to finance research on massively parallel systems with distributed memory.

He Contributed to the formulation of the proposal (than accepted) as for the frame focused on the security of wireless system and distributed network. Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. theses advised
- Since 2003 he has been advising eleven M.Sc. and fifteen B.Sc. theses. In 2007 the M.Sc. Thesis (student: Paolo Cencioni) won the national contest "Innovate information security" run by Infosecurity. He has been PhD-jury member for the University of Malaga, Paris Telecom, Università di Roma "La Sapienza", and University of California Irvine.
He is currently the advisor of four Ph.D. students at the Università di Roma Tre, and one PhD student at the Università di Roma "La Sapienza".
