The main topic of the talk is the geometric Hamiltonian formulation of
Quantum Mechanics and its interplay with the standard formulation. Iconstruct a
general prescription to set up a quantum theory as a classical-like theory where
quantum dynamics is given by a Hamiltonian vector field on a complex projective
space and quantum states are represented by classical-like Liouville densities.
Then I describe the C*-algebra of quantum observables in terms
of classical-like observables. Finally, I discuss some applications of such
geometric framework to quantum information and quantum control theory and its
connection with tomographic description of open quantum systems.
