| The construction of a resolution of the universal Abel-Jacobi map has recently become a natural step to compute the double ramification cycle. This is the cycle over the moduli space of stable curves defined as the pull-back of the unit section of the universal Jacobian via the Abel-Jacobi map. In this talk we show how to give a resolution of the universal Abel map taking values in Esteves´ universal compactified Jacobian. We achieved our goal using the explicit solution of the analogous problem in tropical geometry. This is a joint work with Alex Abreu. |
